The fabled Apple Tablet, already dubbed the "iTablet", may be more than just the rumor, according to The Financial Times (FT). Given the extraordinary success of the iPhone, electronic consumers are closely monitoring Apple's potential development of a portable, internet ready, full-featured, tablet-sized computer which sports a 10 in screen, making ideal for watching movies.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Electronic Components, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Electronic Components today.

Nope, surely wouldn't watch a movie on an iTablet. I'll stick to my trusty HP.

I'll watch a movie on one ... if I'm ever in traction, and one gets suspended overhead just for that purpose...

I, for one, detest the thought of not being 'rocked' by both big picture & big sound, when watching a movie. Whenever the "old Sony" (rear projection) gives-up the ghost, I'll do WITHOUT non-theater movies until a flat-screen goes up on the wall.

Earphones are great for the mp3 player when outside, painting and other yard work (even mowing, with ear-muff type sound protectors over the top) ... but they can't begin to give you the "gut-shot" you get during (loud) action sequences while listening to a real surround system.

Kids, nowadays, will surely go for the 10 inchers ... so they can "Mush-their-brains anytime/anywhere" ... !

Looks like Toshiba has beat Apple to it.

Re Toshiba (link): "Wow!" ... and with a 17 inch screen, versus 10...!
