Is There a Place for YouTube in Your Business?

Posted October 23, 2009 9:11 AM

Are social networking Web sites turning into useful educational and business resources? Companies like CAD vendor Autodesk think so. What kind of information, posted on YouTube and similar outlets, would help on your job?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Machine Tools & Metal Working, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Machine Tools & Metal Working today.

Check out the CR4_News channel on YouTube sometime.

More videos are coming soon, too. Do you have any CR4-worthy videos of your own that you'd like to share? If so, send Moose a message.

Smart technology companies like engineering firm Albany Engineering in Upstate, New York have been using it for some time to successfully drive business their way: See my earlier blog entry that includes a YouTube video.

I'm looking at technology company web sites daily, and am seeing more and more of them dedicating resources to this and cleverly getting their message out using social media like YouTube, CR4, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

For example, Microsoft has smartly started doing this too, for their important new product offering: I just became a Facebook "fan" of Windows 7 last night, to stay up-to-date with latest technical developments via my Facebook newsfeed.

Weekend project will keep a lot of hard working people happy when they have a project outside of work. Keeps the mind sharp too.
