Ford's Completely Carbon Fiber Mustang

You can't throw a rock at SEMA without hitting something made out of carbon fiber, but even in this sea of lightweight material, this Mustang stood out. All the bodywork—and even the wheels—is made out of carbon fiber, and while I didn't find out exactly how many pounds lighter this Pony is from stock, it looks so trick.

I'll bet you wouldn't last long throwing rocks at SEMA.....

Hi CarDomain,

The Mustang certainly looks the part for sure!

I think the Aston Martin gang could learn from this.

At the moment the Aston has the same floor-shell as the Jag', so the design restrictions are 'set in stone' when it comes to fitting a body to it, and what has happened? Although they tell you it is a Jag', it looks like a generic Jag'/Aston. Apart from decals I can see no different between them.

Where this Mustang has used a very modern carbon-fibre structure throughout and also has a pretty unique shape. It remains to be seen how much lighter it is, though it should be about 25% lighter? The fit and finish need to be seen close up also. It would have been a nice tough to have 'Gull-Wing' doors for ease of parking?
