Henry Ford's Plastic Car

Posted February 02, 2007 6:00 AM

If Henry Ford had his way back in 1941, we'd be driving plastic cars made from soybeans. According to Hemmings Auto Blogs, even when the soybeans failed as a base, Ford pushed ahead with his plastic car. The body withstood a beating from his axe, but the design lost traction due to cost and curing time.

Hey, Moose!

Then, when you get a little peckish, you just tear a piece of your car off with your teeth, and cook it up for supper! LOL

Aint it interesting about how advanced we think our science is until we read stuff like this.

Keep in mind that the cellulous plastic that Henry Ford used was invented and developed by George Washington Carver out of Tuskegee University in Alabama. Ford became fast friends with this remarkable and humble african-american scientist who gave God credit for all the uses he discovered for soy beans, peanuts, sugar beets, etc.

Slipstick

I didn't know that Carver was at Tuskegee. Of course, being a handyman I knew he invented linoleum; and being a peanut butter fanatic, well....enough said. how did he end up at Tuskegee?
