Textile Trade Agreements

Posted March 21, 2007 8:20 AM by Moose

James Morrissey, Textile World's Washington correspondent, considers what effect the Democratic takeover of Congress is likely to have on U.S. overseas textile trade agreements. Morrissey discusses the potential impact on importers, the balance of trade with China, and the status of textile industry lobbyists. As for what Congress will do, he predicts resistance to further trade liberalization, adding that the Democrats will "press for labor standards and environmental protection to be included in future trade agreements."
