Recent earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan were met with terrific aid response on a global level. Humanitarian relief was evident in the form of medical supplies, food, and heavy construction equipment. The latter build cities and infrastructure but is also needed during disasters to remove rubble and save the lives of those trapped beneath it.
