Social Media Hit HVAC Industry Hard

Posted April 10, 2011 8:53 AM

Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn…If you haven't heard of these on-line social networks by now, you have to be living under a rock. Even my dad, a 75 year old upstate New York general contractor belongs to LinkedIn. And he hates - I repeat - hates computers. But he's no fool when it comes to connecting with the right people. Just the other day he connected with a vp of a local bank who is interested in building a couple of new branches. Without him having to say a word, I could see the sheen in his eyes. That sheen said: new business on the horizon, and he has a social network to thank for it.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from HVAC, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to HVAC today.
