In this episode, Chris Duke of Motorz TV explains how to
replace all of the major fluids in your vehicle. Chris begins by summarizing
the differences in automotive fluids by color and viscosity. For example,
automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is red and has a thin consistency. Gear oil
has a thicker viscosity than motor oil, which has a caramel color. Chris also
discusses the three major types of brake fluid - DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5 - and
notes that while antifreeze comes in a range of colors, it has a viscosity
similar to a glass of wine.
But that's not
where this episode ends. Watch the video to learn how to change all of
the fluids in your vehicle, including the motor oil, gear oil, transmission
fluid (and the pan), and refrigerant.
