EMO Hannover 2011 – More Than Machine Tools

Posted August 23, 2011 4:55 PM by BrushResearch

When the world of metalworking gathers at EMO Hannover 2011 next month, trade show exhibitors and industry executives will join journalists and machinists under one roof and in uncertain economic times. Four years ago, the metalworking industry's premiere event drew 166,500 visitors from 80 countries - and generated an order volume of 4 billion Euros. This year's event, slated for September 19 to 24 at the Hannover Convention Center, will again join over 2000 international suppliers with potential customers.

The show's motto, "More than Machine Tools," underscores the message from Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director for the German Machine Tool Builders' Association, the organizer for EMO Hannover 2011. In a recent interview with Eurotec magazine, Dr. Schäfer warned how machine tool suppliers must find new ways to compete and win. "New technical solutions alone are not enough," he explained. To succeed in a business environment that requires greater resource efficiency, customers need solutions to meet their specific "manufacturing challenges".
