The wiretapping case against Google may be covering new ground because it was not a government agency eavesdropping on citizens. Evidence was not being collected to prove a crime. Foreign espionage was not involved. No malicious intent was proved. But the data collected wasn't "readily accessible to the general public." And many assert that special sophisticated technology was required. Were Google's actions illegal? Should people be concerned, or is this a lot of hype?
