Managers Need More Schooling on Lean

If you believe the results of a new survey cited in Industry Week, managers have a lot to learn about applying lean manufacturing principles in their companies. Lean implementers responding to the survey stressed that support from leadership is the most important factor in driving lean programs, but they note that many managers don't understand their essential role in the success of lean campaigns. Managers in many companies don't understand that implementing lean manufacturing means that they must change their own behavior, concludes the survey's author. What's been your experience in getting leaders to back lean programs?
