Safer Food Packaging

Researchers at Queen's University in Belfast have found a way to keep food safe from farm to fork. They've developed an oxygen-sensing package system that will let consumers know when too much air has touched their food, making it unsuitable for consumption. A simple color change on the packaging shows that the food is no longer safe.

The oxygen sensor does not go far enough to insure the food is safe. Which will open manufacture up to liability cases. Someone will say that the sensor wasn't blue so it should have been safe. There are other sources of contaminates that the sensor wouldn't indicate.

Still nothing better then your own senses. If we keep on trying to make things idiot proof. Then we end up with world full of idiots.

Oxygen sensing is only a small part. Some type of sensor for Escherichia coli, salmonella and listeria. Which currently lab analyses and cultures are used.
