Regardless, choice is not a concern for me; I would simply buy the one that suits my needs.

My concern is how quickly the current version becomes obsolete. There is a bit of a lull in the industry right now. Is the next Big Thing going to wipe everything out?

Shucks, I was looking for an answer. I put $20 dollars on the tree for each of my 20 relative and nobody showed and now I want a Tablet..I've looked at over 200 and now am so confused with words like Android, gingerbread, icebox, creamcake..All I want to do is set on the dock fish and surf the net..I can't send thankyou notes till I buy something..

To decide, Google android vs i-phone and pick an unbiased comparison, then do a demo of each at a local store.

You are welcome. It helps to have just gone through that decision process myself. I learned that it does not pay to have someone else decide for you.

Exactly what I did. I went online to my cell-provider's 'store', did a comparison for what I wanted and went to the provider's store in town to 'drive' them.

Multiple choice, eh? Isn't "None of the above," a common choice?
