Intelligent Coatings Respond and Adapt

Researchers at Purdue University have developed a coating that — when applied to the windshield of an automobile — improves driver visibility in all types of weather. The new coating responds and adapts to external conditions, reports Technology Review, spreading water into a thin film and repelling oil.
