Clearly this story is utterly fictitious or at least highly slanted. Because all the talking heads have reassured us time and again that companies would never, ever wantonly pollute! And certainly they don't need all those unnecessary, vicious, job-killing regulations and fines to stop them from doing it.

Well, obviously, if a little bit of regulation is good then a lot of regulation - extending the reach of federal agencies light years beyond the original problem - is even better. Yeah, that logic is flawless.
