 Time waits for no man. No matter how many cars we may purchase, we
can never buy enough time to save them all. However, that doesn't
dissuade some car collectors, who amass collections that even the most
dedicated and deep-pocketed among us would struggle to manage,
ultimately dying and leaving the cars to their children, who have no
interest in the cars save for their scrap value.
But that's not entirely the case in Pipestone, Minnesota, where the
Farmer brothers have decided to give other collectors and restorers a
shot at some of the vehicles in their late father's collection of about
90 cars and trucks before calling in the crusher. As is to be expected,
none of the vehicles in the collection are exactly show quality. Most
look like they've only recently been dragged from their resting places
of the last few decades, and many appear to have been lightly hit,
perhaps the reason the senior Farmer bought them in the first place.
Among the collection, though, we see some potential: more than a dozen
tri-five Chevrolets, a 1948 Divco milk truck, an AMC Gremlin, an Opel
Kadett, four products of the Kaiser-Frazer corporation, several
International trucks, and a handful of early 1950s Chrysler products
with Hemi V-8s. Also, as befitting a family with the surname Farmer, the
collection includes several John Deere, Minneapolis Moline, and Farmall
tractors.
