Storm-related outages at an Amazon data center in Ashburn prompted some congressional officials on Monday to question whether the federal government is moving too swiftly to put important data on private-sector cloud computing servers.

The link didn't work- apparently, connecting to servers in the DC area is still iffy...

But, I think a bigger security threat to cloud computing is the US government itself. How many people have lost access to their legitimate files due to the US government shutting down megaupload? Probably a lot more than hurt than those who were inconvenienced by the recent storm...
