If you were a car-crazy kid in the mid-Eighties like myself, you may
remember the short-lived "DreamWheels" series of toys, those stuffed
plush car pillows that came in many different forms.
I'd been wondering what happened to mine, and I recently found them
at my parents' place, in a stash of childhood goods that haven't yet
moved to Vermont. These toys, which measure roughly 12 inches long by 7
inches wide, feature complex shapes, neat details (love the bug's
running boards and that Lambo's wing!) and, on their
undercarriages, their own stories.
