Earnhardt-Themed Stretch Chevy Pickup Is Horrendous Redneck Limo

You see a lot of pretty incredible rides in the infield at NASCAR tracks, but I can't say I've ever seen any race fan spend this much money to make something look this... um, busy. The 1989 diesel Silverado is festooned with Dale Sr. and Jr. livery, as well as RCR and NASCAR regalia and a variety of random Looney Toons characters, with an interior that looks like it was swapped straight out of your crazy Uncle Buck's rec room.

Just proves that you can be as dumb as a boot, and, if you have money, advertise it to the world.

lyn - Why would you rag on someone for using his skills with something he/she loves?

There is good creativity and skill involved. It's not something I would drive and I wouldn't spend my time or money on it but I appreciate the work in the project.

What makes any of you think that the owner did the work?

More than likely just whipped out his check book.

That's just my opinion.

Either way it's ok isn't it? Whether he/she did the work or paid for it to be done. It's their choice.

What someone chooses to do with his/her time, money or skills is up to individual, and why should we be critical of them in their choice of a vehicle? As long as they aren't sucking off the government "tit" (your money and mine) and using that money to subsidize non-necessities, they can do what they want.

My guess is they are self-funded, self-sufficient and personally driven to succeed.

It's fine by me.

And along those same lines it is still OK to voice one's opinion, is it not?

I wasn't knocking the craftsmanship, from the photos you can't really tell much about the real crafstmanship anyway, just the outrageuos theme.

It just seemed like there was an animosity and critical attitude without knowing anything about the owner of the vehicle. It seems like there is a lot of vitriolic attitude towards someone who does things with flare or that probably cost a lot of money. It's almost like people think that money shouldn't be spent in this way.

Just because someone does things differently or likes things differently than me doesn't make it bad or wrong, it's just different. Especially in something like this that has nothing to do with principles, it is simply taste/opinion.

On the flip side, lyn's post is in keeping with the blog's title, but we haven't heard any righteous indignation on that front, no? No objections to 'horrendous', to 'redneck'? You seem rather selective in your criticisms.

Nope. Not dumb, just Nascar crazy, and guilty of bad taste. You'd be surprised how "undumb" a lot of those rednecks are.................

Especially the ones that can chop a truck in half and stretch it.

Not my style for sure but I can still admire the qualities in the work and execution.

Well, I thought it was a nice tribute to two talented drivers. I was thinking it might be something I would try. Has any one ever seen a stretched Fuego?
