Meh...there are arctic caterpillers that get frozen solid for 7 consecutive arctic winters before they morph into moths. I mean frozen solid. They can't eat enough during the short arctic summer to support the change.

Were it that this thread goes not the same way as the infamous Bath Breaking Thread...

<Indicative subjunctive future of the verb "to be" used to impress English Rose.>

Complete fur coats are certainly all the rage these days.

.

Just look at the disparity in treatment of those whose fur coats cover their tails and those whose fur coats don't.

.

Squirrels, chipmunks and prairie dogs, with their furry tails, are generally regarded as cute.

It isn't too often you hear someone scream 'Eek! a chipmunk!'

.

But consider the general reaction to those whose tails are follicly-challenged? Just a glimpse of that bare-skin tail and most people aren't interested in discovering if the abomination has a great personality.

.

Consider a rat, muskrats, and mice. The case holds even outside rodentia. Consider the hideous virginia opossum.

.

Isn't it time to support the campaign for tail-wigs? The benefits to the self esteem of these unsightly creatures, and more significantly to the esthetic senses of everyone else, certainly outweigh the cost to manufacture the tail-wigs, capture the beneficiary, and permanently affix this much needed solution.

Fur coats are cool - on the original owners. I suppose a similar argument runs with leather/shoes, but generally speaking the rest of the <whatever> gets eaten and used in various ways. It'd be interesting to see popular perception if dolphins had nasty snarling faces instead of that faux smile. The nastiest critters I've ever met wear suits and carry briefcases. 'alpha eating beta' is very much the way of all life, but peoples seem to have managed it to an extreme.

...should I log this as support for, or opposition to,

tail-wigs (or maybe tail-toupees?) for the tail-bald?

You can thank your lucky stars (well, your ancestors' lucky stars, anyway) you guys colonized this continent. If they hadn't, you'd have to grope for another career and, Lord knows, chronic whinging is such a hard habit to break. May I suggest India? They're the ones manning all those call center(re)s, yes, and give you such fabulous tech support and play Twenty Questions with you on each call even when you've already got an open support ticket and try to get you to upgrade your cell service and won't take 'no' for an answer even though you already subscribed to what they're selling from last time when they wouldn't take 'no' for answer then either, just get rid of them and it was 3 AM? And besides, they're very polite and understand correct punctuation, just like we do.

Shall it come to pass that this thread shall follow the precarious and ill conceived path of the afore mentioned thread, than I, for one, will not support the worded dissertation found therein but will endeavor to ignore in spirit, if not in deed, the discourse found therein....
