Documents Show Worries About Power Outage Before Super Bowl

Posted February 05, 2013 11:16 AM

From Yahoo! News - Latest News & Headlines:

Superdome officials warned just months before the Super Bowl that the venue's electrical system could suffer a power outage and rushed to replace some of the equipment ahead of the big game While the cause of Sunday's 34-minute outage is still under investigation, records released Monday show that Superdome officials were worried in October about losing power during the NFL championship.

What's the problem? The lazy cusses knowingly took chances, and lost. I would have fixed things, reduced loads. But I am an experienced engineer, like many others not asked.

First of all, big lights should have been distributed.:

Main breaker 1: all odd segment

Main breaker 2: all even segments.

Second layer:

Secondary breakers interleaved even/ odd, 2x even/ 2xodd for the rest.

With that, 50% of the play light disappearing would be unnoticed by the players and cameras.

And So On. Nothing particularly complicated.

But, too much to ask from that management?!?

Yes. Interesting and unfortunate that the mishap was in New Orleans. The city didn't need further bad press after Katrina.

I'll bet Mercedes would like an explanation as to where all the money they spent on the SuperDome sponsorship went. I'll venture it probably went the same place the money that was supposed to be used to fix New Orleans went, into the pockets of those who least deserved it.

Seven years later Katrina disaster tours are still a profitable business. Interesting.
