Strengthening Security in Industrial Control Systems

Maintaining reliable control of industrial systems requires more than deploying quality devices in a connected network. Today's operations require a stronger defense against cyber attacks, an approach that typically means constant monitoring at more levels. These days, system engineers aren't left to develop solutions on their own, as specialized technologies are beginning to hit the market. Among them is an appliance from Indegy, which the supplier says can identify unauthorized changes that operators typically can't detect. The platform maps all controllers on a network, validates their configurations, logs all activities and changes, and spots unsanctioned or unintended changes.
