If I had to guess (which is what I'm doing), not so much the structure but the architect.

I would say it's the work of I.M. Pei

Looks like a glass wall in a park landscape. Nothing I would call architecture.

No idea otherwise.

It's similar to St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco. I found dozens, maybe hundreds, of images, but none looking down from above.

I remember reading who the architect(s) was(were) on a plaque there, but don't remember a thing...

The roof structure in the drawing has five ridge-lines and trees around the building, overlapping the roof somewhat.

Good Find! ...but it doesn't appear nearly as imposing as it does from the ground, or from inside.

This is different....house on the edge of a building....

..."Teetering on the corner and edge of Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego, is a small cottage that appears to have been picked by a tornado and dropped on to the ledge of the towering seven story building. It’s an installation art titled “Fallen Star” by Korean artist Do Ho Suh. Opened in 2009, “Fallen Star” is the 18th permanent sculpture commissioned by the university’s Stuart Collection.

The 15-foot by 18-foot house has a cozy interior and is fully furnished. There is a couch with comfortable-looking pillows, a television set, chandelier, framed photos, and lighting that is switched on after sunset and switched off late at night. Leading up to the house is a small garden with a brick path framed by tomatoes, wisteria vines and plum tree. From the street below, one can see smoke rising up from the chimney, creating an impression that the house is occupied. It even has a fake address: 72 Blue Heron Way."...

I've gotta stop by and take a look at that! I have seen at least one photo of it before, but I didn't realize it's only a few miles from our shop!

I don't know, but if I lived in a glass house of cards in West Texas, I would be worried for the next gust of wind.

It looks like an architects attempt at outdoor sculpture, rather than at architecture...

Hard to tell what's hiding amongst all the foliage...

(or faux-liage ?...)

Dkwarner’s guess, St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco (picture from Solar Eagle), was on the right track, but wasn’t quite the answer to this week’s Guess the Architecture. Instead, this building is the Sayama Forest Chapel, in Japan. It was designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP and was intended to use “the forest [as] the subject of prayer that is mutual to various religions” to create the non-denominational chapel that resides within the Sayama Lakeside Cemetery. The architect described the structure as “a traditional Japanese Gassho-style structure composed three-dimensionally as two leaning beams set against each other are developed in every direction.” In this, the architect refers to the traditional peaked roof of Gassho-style houses, but also alludes to gasshō as a “Buddhist-style pressed-palm gesture of piety” which is used for prayer, as well as for signaling gratitude, reverence, apology, or a greeting.

LOL Thank you for the nice lesson in Architecture. really.
