The Hypocrisy party in itself is a majority in DC.... how Washington DC functions is like a dysfunctional family, and they're fine with that.

"how Washington DC functions is like a dysfunctional family, and they're fine with that."

DC's level of dysfunction makes the Hatfield & McCoy Feud look like the Cosby Show family, or the Brady Bunch.

Good analogy,… This past weekend, I watched the ‘ Hatfield’s and McCoy’s ’ with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton.

I knew a lot of animosity between the two family’s had build up over time and people would complain, “How could this happen?”

It doesn’t just happen, it slowly evolves into this situation that it becomes the norm of a culture.

And the analogy is just like Washington, with the exception that the level of dysfunction increases the past 8 years to a point of being actually being dysfunctional and incompetent is the norm.

Yup, the big problem in DC is that there are THREE clans now: The Democrats on Left-to-Center, The Republicans on Mid-Right-To-Far-Right, and the Extremist Republicans on the So-Far-To-The-Right-They-Actively-Hate_Democracy.

If it weren't for that last group, we could probably get a consensus between the two other parties and have a functioning government, but as long as those Extreme Republicans are there constantly demanding more and more concessions from their less-extreme Republicans in exchange for votes, we'll not see anything good come out of Congress.

Re: Caption This for 3/24/2017

03/29/2017 9:02 AM

Without 'labels,' how can we confirm that we are talking about the same thing? It's thy humans have the habit of Naming everything they encounter, why humans even have names.

What we have right now in the Major parties are camps in the Mid-Left, Near-Left, Mid-Right, and Far-Right(1). The Far-Left does not engage in active politics, but instead congregates into communes and farming co-opts(2).

Now the Mid-Left, Near-Left, and Mid-Right all play a 'fair game,' but the Far-Right has gotten a 'win at all costs' attitude. The media, in order to not appear like they are taking partisan sides, are forced to give a 'both sides do it' approach, even though that is wholly inaccurate. The public, constantly hearing this 'both sides do it' mantra, begin to believe it, which leads not only to increased tempers when debating politics, but also to 'voter apathy,' causing many to not vote at all(3).

The point is, we DON'T have the two sides balanced against each other, or even proportional to the political leanings of The People. One look at how badly gerrymandered most states are proves that, and also shows without a shadow of a doubt which side has been 'cheating' the system.

Notes:

  1. I am still debating whether the 'Alt-Right' is a distinct group from the Far-Right, or if the Alt-Right are the Far-Right with the masks removed, so for the sake of clarity in this post, I will pretend that the Alt-Right does not exist.
  2. There used to be a Near-Right, but all the fighting in primaries at all levels have forced the Near-Right to adopt more Mid-Right and Far-Right stances to win the right to compete against the other side for the seat.
  3. And here, the 'liberal media' AGAIN falls for a GOP plan, as voter suppression has seldom, if ever, helped the Democrat party, while it overwhelmingly helps the Conservatives, who would just LOVE to roll back the voting rules to that of the Antebellum South: only rich, white, male landowners (or to use a more modern phrase, the One-Percenters) get a vote.

OK then,... you can use labels... but before you so, first straighten out the mislabeled items first.

And maybe while your at it,... assign them colors also to those labels as to their extremes... I reserve plaid ....

Good luck.

In the mean time, I'll just categorize (label) them as

Extreme left/Extreme Right

Left/Right

center

I just think its ridicules that people always identifies the extremes of the opposite party. but fails to label or even recognize their own extremist's from their own party.

Would you like an example?,... other than yourself,... that would still be an easy one.

What color would I get? I'll take the label mid right conservative, I believe in the conservative values but would not consider myself extreme right. You are absolutely correct though, I have seen extremists on both side here on CR4 and if this was not so off topic, I would give you a G.A. because it's the extremists on both sides that cause the issues, politics and religion.

Your right... anything Elton wears, only Elton and pull it off.

But just keep it to yourself... and don't tell jpool.

I'm taking him out to a dinner party tonight,... and I told him to wear it because he looks good in it.

Not a problem.... Why don't you also give Bill, Ted, Ned and Tonto a call.

And get a hold of tcmtech too...

Since it's Friday. We can meet at the 'Y' and get a sing-a-long going.

Or is that too much?

I thought Pope Francis was moving them into positions where they would have NO contact with youth, or even with lay congregation.

It's not like they would lack for work, there's lots of paperwork to get done in the back offices, and plenty of sacred objects, religious paraphernalia and cursed objects that are never to see the light of day that need polishing, guarding and feeding down in the Reliquary Vaults. Putting them to work there frees up the more sociably acceptable members of the Clergy to tend to the parishioners.

who are all just as bad as the pedophiles.

After receiving a lifetime achievement award, Chelsea Clinton just signed a new book deal last week with Simon & Schuster to write a book of her memoirs, this week she submitted 'The Life and Times of Chelsea Clinton'.

And after much ado and bated breath for hours, Simon & Schuster just published it yesterday and is now available in hardcover and paperback and here it is.

Considering how well written (*sarcastic cough*) most manuals are, you practically NEED to print them out for them to be usable, since you have to cross-reference three different sections to do even basic troubleshooting.

The last time I tried to bookmark three different sections on a PDF with my fingers, all I did was smudge up the computer screen.

lol,...

In the 80's-90's, the equipment that came from say,... Japan,... the only thing really usable was the ladder logic diagram. Because Ladder Logic, like math is a universal language.

Re: Caption This for 3/24/2017

Was in Japan a few years back, taking delivery of a "know-how" exchange. Day 2 of 5 we had us two Aussie engineers one side of the table and the interpreter and eight Japanese engineers on the other. All was going well until their progammer mentioned something.

The interpreter looked oddly at the fellow and 30 minutes of discussion followed. Occasionally we heard the word "ladder" from the interpreter.

My colleague and I quickly sketched the ladder decission program for interpretation of a simple fault and slipped it onto the table. The programmer (in a very a-typical way) snatched the note and shook it at the interpreter repeating the same word over and over. I suspect it was Japanese for "Ladder".

Everyone smiled, they retired for their cigarettes and when we resumed all was good.

The symbols may have been different, but that day we wee speaking the same language, even if it was in different tongues.
