Whatever it is, that is just Dog-awful architecture, and not really all that impressive! I have seen out-buildings in West Texas more attractive, certainly more functional.

Art is subjective and its appeal varies between cultures and times.

Correct! And I see this as art more than architecture. I wouldn't be so critical as JS, but it's not my cup of tea, either.

I guess my rants have become so bellicose, that it appears I am obloviated, rather than tongue in cheek actual.

I see the intricate stained glass work. If I saw that in a West Texas outhouse, I would freak out, and run the other way.

"obloviated"? I couldn't find that in my dictionaries.

If a person can afford stained glass windows in their outhouse, what's wrong with that? Presumably, if they can afford stained glass windows in their outhouse, they can also afford standard plumbing, and the outhouse is either decorative or for emergencies...

Definition of bloviate

bloviated

;

bloviating

  1. intransitive verb
  2. : to speak or write verbosely and windily pundits bloviating on the radio

Apparently, I missed the word altogether, but what I meant was I am being a wind bag. I suppose to be bloviated, is to be blown away by a politician's rhetoric so badly, that one would resemble a tumbleweed in Nevada.

James: could you provide an image of a West Texas out building, and maybe a North, South and east one too. As for the functionality, a visual representation is not required, although a verbal description should suffice.

You get what you get, and you smell what you smellavision. First you have to get past all the spiders. Then check for rattlers. Then there are the scorpions and vinegaroons. Finally you take a seat in the "two-holer" shown, although it boggles my mind why or how two people could put up with sitting next to each other for #2 at the same time in there. You are doing your poopy business, when all of a sudden you realize you forgot to bring the sanitary paper. OH wait, thank heaven, there is that old Sears & Roebuck catalog right there where Mary Lou left it!

In a flash, you are out of there, sprinting for fresh air.

Wikipedia on "Vinegaroon"

Vinegaroon! Old wive's tale that if they bite you, and you fall asleep, you never wake up. Truth: they have no venom glands. They do emit acetic and caprylic acid when agitated.

Judge Roy Bean of the Lower Pecos River area, (who used to claim to be the only law west of the Pecos), held court in a saloon known as "The Vinegaroon".

I hardly need to post the answer this week, thanks to Solar Eagle’s prompt answer. L'atelier du maître-verrier Sterner, or Sterner’s Glassmaker’s Shop, is an Art Nouveau building located at 6 Rue de Lac in Brussels, Belgium.

The workshop was originally an outbuilding of the house at 5 rue de la Vallée (pictured below), built in 1892 for Victor Marchal, according to Wikipedia. The workshop itself was built in 1902 and was occupied primarily by the Austrian glassmaker Clas Gruner Sterner.

The architect, Ernest Delune (1859-1947), was an eclectic architect who was known for this design, as it was entirely Art Nouveau.

I would not want an outhouse with that many windows, but yes, it is a sturdy looking one, might even out last a West Texas Haboob (hey I didn't invent that word, it is Arabic, I think for "wall of dirt").
