Geez! A tough one.

Shouldn't the boards on the right of the structure extend to meet the roof, like this?

This is the hut you had to live in after you joined a cult....The cult of the Heathen Panda...You lived and worked for many years building the church of the Great Panda, pictured here

...before eventually being rescued by a Save the Bamboo cult, you escaped on a raft of leaves down the River of no Return and are awaiting another calling...meanwhile you spend your days making bamboo flutes and selling them to passers-by...

About 20+ years ago, I got really drunk in the State Theater, down town Detroit. I think that is a picture of the bouncer that escorted me out of the building....

Tiki Hut occupied by Harvey, the six foot tall (almost) invisible rabbit?

I think this hut is more typical of the kind built by Maori on New Zealand, actually, but I cannot tell you where...yet.

Tāne (Maori god of forests and birds) makes the first man Tiki, then makes a wife for him, her name is usually Hine-ahu-one.

Therefore this is the first human dwelling, since it was occupied by the first man Tiki, on the South Island of New Zealand on the west coast, but I still cannot tie down the precise location.

It is the most incredible archeological find in history to be able to report this. It is right up there with finding Skull Island and Kong.

Looks like the kind of place Chuang Tzu would have done his writings.

"WHETHER THEY ARE THE

right or wrong kind of words, they are at least some kind of words, and are no different than the words of others, so they're just okay. But please permit me to say them. There is a beginning. And there is a not-yet-beginning-to-be-a-beginning. There is a not-yet-beginning-to-be-a-not-yet-beginning-to-be-a-beginning. There is being. There is not beginning to be being. There is not yet beginning to be not yet beginning to be being. Oh, suddenly there's being and not being. Now I just had my say. But I don't know whether my saying has said anything or nothing. In All- nnder-heaven, there's nothing bigger than the tip of a dust mote floating in clear autumn air, and yet a mountain is a tiny thing. "

This week’s building is one of a few temporary dormitories [pdf] designed by a.gor.a architects for the Mae Tao Clinic in Mae Sot, Thailand. Constructed in 2012, the dormitory project was one of numerous health and educational facilities the two organizations collaborated on. The architects hoped to create low-cost, easily assembled temporary buildings using primarily recycled materials.

According to a.gor.a, “[t]he interior layout ensures an open and airy space that offers semi-privacy and includes storage space for the students. The materials”—bamboo, thatch, and recycled timber—“are locally available and well known for their users, which allows easy maintenance and results in low cost.” The local materials are also intended to preserve the construction skills and traditions of the local people.

Seems like it's a little too easy for the local (critters) and/or (bugs) to crael up the diagonal (legs) to remain very usable for very long...

...oh, wait. Maybe that's why they are called temporary dorms...
