Surprisingly there are a lot of clock towers with palm trees around them. I added windows in front to search and looked through 3 pages of pics till I found this pic. I passed it up twice until I made the connection. I really thought it was middle eastern.

That one is close Mr. Eagle, but it is actually the Aloha Tower in Honolulu.

It is the "GUESS" tower in some place in Hawaii that I will never see.

My life is depressing.

Oh, snap two of my buddies already figured out it is the "Goodbye" tower in Honolulu.

Hey, buddy, I have never been there either, probably never will. On the bright side, my ex-mother in law just invited me to Scotland next year, she said she'll pay, if I do the driving while we are there. I said h'mm, you'll pay for me to go to Scotland and all I have to do is drive on the wrong side of the road? Deal!

You can't have any beer for 3 weeks before that trip.

I would totally freak! Get mad at the Gingers driving on the "wrong" side, then blow a gasket, have a stroke, or even worse. That sort of thing might make me want to have a goat for a pet.

Why can't I have a beer 3 weeks before that trip?

And what's wrong with goats? I really like goat cheese.

Edit : These post's are off topic to this thread, so I have marked mine so. But I still want to know what your issue with goats is, and why I can't drink beer 3 weeks before. I could understand if I was going to Germany, clear my taste buds for the best beer in the world......

I have been warned not to make any further deleterious comments about goats, pets, or persons on this forum. My grandfather had a case of the goats once, he recommended no person go beyond owning goats once. I think they used to climb all over his model T, then jump up on the house (a two story farm house). These were not mountain goats, clearly, they were house goats.

That would be the low hanging fruit. I never developed a use for dingle-berries though.

I've spent some time in left-side driving countries. You get used to driving on the "wrong" side, but be careful at intersections. It's easy to forget and turn into the wrong lane. (Experience )

I think that is why she is willing to pay my way over there, she can go anywhere in Scotland she wants, doesn't have to drive, and doesn't have to worry about wrong turns, etc.. I hope she likes pubs and castles.

JPool guessed this week’s building correctly—and so swiftly too. The Aloha Tower Waterfront Lofts are located at Hawaii Pacific University. According to Architectural Digest in their article, The 15 Most Beautiful College Dormitories in America, the lofts offer residents a “breathtaking view of the pier along with a variety of dining and retail options in the Aloha Tower Marketplace”—to think I’d considered my own dorm room views picturesque.

The tower was built in 1926 and was the tallest building on the islands for decades, even “housing an observatory and lookout station for harbor pilots,” while its lighthouse “served as a navigation landmark that could be seen from 15 miles at sea.”
