How Do You Define "Embedded?"

Apparently, different people have differing definitions. In a recent Embedded.com column, Editor-in-Chief Richard Nass presents his: "An embedded system is a computer whose end function is not to be a computer." He explains, except for a PC, that any device containing a computer, microcontroller, or microprocessor is an embedded system. Respondents added their refinements. What's your definition?
