Storm Center Data Goes Public

Should electric utilities make outage data available to the general public in real-time? After investigating the pros and cons of releasing this sensitive data, Florida's SECO Energy said yes. T&D World reports that SECO's Storm Center gives outage information, and also provides estimated times to power restoration. Are such communications plans secure or silly?
