Solar power, plagued by high costs, is getting an investment boost with more plastics players developing semi-conductive polymers for use in military gear, window coatings, and ocean kayaks. So far, the ROI consists of thin film alternatives to pricey silicon, cheaper $1 per Watt printed systems, and a faster production process with transparent polyurethane.
