Unified Communications Market Will More Than Double

Posted December 11, 2007 8:19 AM

The way in which individuals communicate and collaborate in a business environment has changed dramatically — to the point where all kinds and sizes of companies have arrived at the realization that the flow of information and knowledge throughout an organization needs to be streamlined for competitive reasons. One way to do that is utilizing a unified communications system to integrate conferencing, data collaboration, IP telephony, messaging, mobility, and other functions. So, how big is this market?

Well, in the next five years, the market for unified communications products and services is predicted to more than double expanding from $22.6 billion this year to $48.7 billion in 2012. According to combined market data and research from In-Stat and Wainhouse Research, a 13.7% compound annual growth rate is forecast. See how companies utilize unified communications in a recent survey by Network General Corp.
