MQL is AOK

Posted December 18, 2007 8:34 AM

The Society of Manufacturing Engineers has released a video to bring you up-to-date on minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) benefits in metal cutting and forming. Using four different manufacturers (including Ford) as examples, the presentation recommends using only the minimum lubricant necessary (as opposed to traditional 'flooding'). Hazards to workers and the environment, as well as costs, can be cut while actually increasing production rates and tool life. What lubricating practice do you use?
