Promoting Productivity, What about the Equipment?

Maintenance programs fall into two categories: those that use advanced diagnostic instruments and maintenance management systems software, and those that use decades of experience to touch, feel, and hear a problem arising in a piece of equipment. Unfortunately, much of our manufacturing equipment is becoming more and more electronic, and electronics are very, very quiet. Are you using technology such as infrared and ultrasound systems to gauge the health of your manufacturing operation?
