Will Slower Growth Impact Employment

Posted February 29, 2008 8:20 AM

Many component and automation system suppliers predict growth in 2008. This automation.com forum highlights opinions from editors, engineers, and technicians on how the current slower economic growth is affecting employment. Temps are often the first to be impacted by slowdowns, but one contract worker says "I remember living hand to mouth after 9/11. Believe me, we are not in a recession." What is your outlook?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Electrical Components, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Electrical Components today.

I think we should just lock all the economists up and throw away the key...

They create panic, chaos, and do now't but talk bollocks.

They moan if there is inflation, or recession, or if house prices are going up too fast, or not fast enough. They create nothing tangible...

I tend to put economists in the same catagory as weathermen, (meteorologists)

They can say partly sunny or partly cloudy and still be right and wrong at the same time. And still have a job the next day.

I would love that job........not.
