Titanium on the Cheap

Scientists in Australia claim a process that produces titanium powder for a tenth of previous process costs. The continuous powder-production technique is based on aluminum reduction of titanium chemicals. The process has experimentally produced 150 grams of alloy per hour in a continuous production mode. What could lower titanium prices mean to manufacturing?
