Solar powered hearing aid

One man decided to change the problems a hearing impaired person goes through. There are 250 million people around the world who are hearing-impaired? Even worse, two-thirds of them live in the developing world. Odds are these people don't have the type of money needed to buy conventional hearing aids, primarily because their expensive batteries last only about a week.

I'm impressed by his intentions, if not his invention. Because the article doesn't really offer the slightest detail about it. Surely it isn't a sombrero with lots of glued-on solar cells and wires running down to the ear unit?

I assume it's some sort of small hearing-aid sized battery that charges via a seperate solar panel, yes? Good for at least a day's worth of hearing. Or two packs, since you'd be using one while the other charged.
