UN to probe Canada over lack of greenhouse-gas reporting

Posted May 08, 2008 8:30 AM

From CBC | Technology & Science News:

The United Nations says it will investigate Canada for failing to meet a Kyoto Protocol deadline on greenhouse gas reporting and could bar it from an international carbon-trading scheme if the probe finds Ottawa broke the rules. The UN Climate Change Secretariat says Canada was notified May 5 that it would be investigated for allegedly violating a Kyoto reporting requirement.

Warning:

Canada, you are in for a flogging by the UN.

We can expect to see more of these floggings, and further punishment for not complying.

Kind Regards....

SERVES THEM RIGHT FOR SIGNING THE "FEEL GOOD PROTOCOL". THE US IS THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT DIDN'T SIGN AND OUR EMISSIONS HAVE GONE DOWN. THIS WHOLE CLIMATE CHANGE BS IS JUST ANOTHER WAY TO PUNISH THE SUCCESSFUL AND LINE THE COFFERS OF THE GANGSTERS AT THE UN.

KEEP THE US OUT OF THIS ASSININE RACE TO REDISTRIBUTE THE INCOME OF THE RICH NATIONS AND "FILTER" IT THROUGH THE UN TO THE "POOR" NATIONS AND THE CRIMINALS THAT RUN THOSE NATIONS. SHOW ME A DEMOCRATIC POOR NATION.

THERE ARE NONE.

"MIRAMAR" IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.

When was the last time that I as a Canadian voted for a UN representative? Oh, that's right, the UN is an organization (some would say a dumping ground) for failed politicians that their respective countries voted out. We now have 380 ppm CO2 in the atmosphere whereas in mediaeval times it was 280 ppm. But the ice age was ended by volcanoes spewing out CO2 to the extent that we had 7000 ppm. And what was the temperature rise? A mere 6 degrees C.

Personally, I look forward to growing pineapples in Toronto.

You didn't of course, and no one else has either. The only error in your diatribe is that you failed to include the fact that the politicians that are insconced in that obsolete organization are not only failed politicians but corrupt for the most part. Does it not infuriate you that the representatives for the most part are sent there by petty dictators who are either complicit in or actively committing geonicide against their people. Disband the World Government concept and close the United Nations. They've done nothing constructive since their inception and have perpetuated world domination by the scum of the earth.

There are many of us in the US that would be more than happy to see the disbanding of the UN. [Unfortunately, we the people are not allowed to vote on whether we stay in the UN]. We pay way too much of the bill to operate and put up with the Cr*p this organization spews out. We also have a bunch of party going diplomats in NYC that break local and federal laws and hide behind diplomatic immunity.

There are many in in the US who would like to see the US acting as a unilateral 'World's Policeman' and I for one dread to think of the consequences.
(I'm not saying the UN is perfect...but it does help to moderate ...If the UK had done it's job properly we may have avoided the Iraq debacle)

I dread it too. It, unfortunately allows people like you and the likes of Chamberlain have "peace in our time".....OOPS! Didn't work. Hey call Winston, he's the only one with the balls to fight back. Give the Yanks a call, they helped last time. Blimey, poor Brits, suffer through a war when they could have had peace under Hitler.

We can let your beloved Muslim extremeist hordes, whom your government has again chosen to ignore put you under Shirea Law. That works for me.

Do you realise the US 'Help' came at a very heavy price.... UK has only just paid back the 'Loans' and 'Help' we got from the US...?
And we were virtually held to ransom financially by the US in the post war years?

I didn't say I supported any particular faction or religion, I'm just pointing out the invasion of Iraq has been a mess, or do you think it has been a success??

The UN has shown us what first-world funding and third-world corruption can accomplish.

If Canada has any guts left it will refuse the investigation and be glad to be left out of the carbon-trading scheme. Canada should just do what it should as a sovereign nation and not pay any attention to the spineless wimps of the UN.
