Massive led wall powered by the sun

Posted May 08, 2008 8:50 AM

From technabob:

This huge LED screen displays mesmerizing patterns of light and video to passersby. But the really amazing thing about the enormous wall of light is that it's completely self-sustaining. That is, the light panels themselves harness the energy of the sun during the day to power a colorful light show at night. GreenPix - Zero Energy Media Wall uses thousands solar photovoltaic capture cells attached to a grid of glass panels, each of which conceals an array of computer-controlled LEDs.

Very pretty it looks.

Shame with all that pollution in China, that more of those cells are not installed, connected together, and fed into their national grid.

Kind Regards....

Looks like this would work well in Las Vegas with all the lights they have out there and the sun-hours per-day. And it could be a good Idea to use this on all our road side billboards. I am wondering how much power, nation wide, is used on these signs and it is the same thing on them for months. This technology would allow the sign to change, more advertising dollars, and no power bill to have to put into the advertising pricing.I see this working in the future.
