Wait. Why would we believe Dr. Mitchell? He's BEEN AWAY FROM EARTH. That automatically makes his motives extremely suspicious.

Only an alien (or a human who has been taken over by aliens) would be so cunning as to announce to the world that aliens truly exist. If aliens have studied us, they know that by openly admitting they exist the natural response by humans will be to laugh and reassure themselves that aliens DON'T really exist.

BUT...by exposing this clever line of deception, I myself have ruined their little scheme. I've just proved that aliens DO exist!!!!

Although...that just reinforces their original plan. By proving that they do exist, I've invited exactly the sort of scorn and ridicule that will convince other humans that they DON'T exist. Dang! Sneaky alien rotters!

However...maybe they weren't counting on me to reveal that they're using people like me who incidentally "prove" that they DON'T exist by demonstrating how they use people like me to prove that they really DO exist. AH-HA!! Now I've got them!

Unless...what if I'M actually an alien? As far as you know I could be. But if so, what exactly am I trying to prove?

Of course aliens exist. How else do you explain the likes of Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson and Lindsay Lohan? For that matter, I'm living proof there's life out there, since I was born in a galaxy far, far away.

Of coarse there are aliens. There are Vulcans, Klingons, Romulans, the Crystal Entity to name a few. I could go on and on.

Honestly my fellow men(and women)when you look up into the night sky and see all those stars and such-you mean we're the only intelligent beings out there?I doubt it.I think these "aliens" are still waiting for mankind to evolve more before they make their introduction.

I read something a few years ago by either Arthur C. Clarke or Isaac Asimov, but can't find it to verify the source or exact wording, but it ran something like...
