Brain Books for the Brain Drain?

A lot has been written recently about the coming skilled worked shortage and the need to preserve project knowledge. And with advancing age, even those of us still sitting at the design desk tend to force old knowledge to make room for the new. Some propose the use of software to create the knowledge capture. Others suggest the use of 'brain books', notebooks used by developers to record design decisions, test results, and more. But handwriting can be difficult to decipher and yet others say save it on a PC. Whether it's for a personal or corporate project, do you plan to protect project procedures?
