Antique Model Airplanes for RC Flyers

Posted December 03, 2008 3:50 PM by Ron

Recently, while searching for photos of antique aircraft, I came across a Web site devoted to models of them. Because I know there are several remote control (RC) flyers in EAA Chapter 320, I looked a bit deeper. This Web site provides access to quite a number of plans, all of which are free and downloadable. Most seem to be from a gentleman named William Schwartz.

Not only are there plans, but there are also drawings of model engines old and new, links, how-to's, three-view sketches, airfoil generators, and more. This is a resource that is well worth exploring. At least one of the how-to tips would work every bit as well for full-size aircraft as for model airplanes.

Editor's Note: CR4 would like to thank Ron Darner for sharing this story. A longtime CR4er, Ron is also the newsletter editor for Chapter 320 (Watertown, Wisconsin) of the Experimental Aircraft Organization (EAA). Hello Ron,

Thanks for the above weblinks which contain such interesting constructional details.

Willam Schwartz evidently has been very busy.

Kind Regards....
