Japanese Scientists Invent Mobile Space Toilet

Posted January 06, 2009 9:24 AM

From The Raw Feed:

Maintaining its global dominance in toilet technology, Japan's Aerospace Exploration Agency has invented a hands-free wearable mobile space toilet for astronauts. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and external engineers are dedicating their time building the next-gen toilet for space exploration. Clean and easy to use, this wearable personal toilet is similar to a diaper and worn at all times.
How does it work? A sensor activated automatic rear mounted suction (pump?!?!?) unit sucks the XXX out of your XXX... Once your business done, an automatic washer and dryer leaves your skin smooth and clean.

I react to this terrible invention with pure horror.

It occurred to me that much space technology drifts down to the private consumer level. During the interminable corporate meetings that we all suffer through, the only things that stand between us and full-on madness are the sanity-saving adjournments that come in the blessedly mandated form of potty breaks.

Once our relentlessly droning masters equip us with a terrestrial version of these electrified diapers, we'll be trapped looking at uninterrupted Powerpoint presentations for all eternity.

Ideal for long trips where you don't want to use the dirty public toilets at gas stations, buses, trains.

Great for elderly with contention problems, who don't want to smell or change

Preferable to be worn by babies during child care hours

If your boss suggest everyone should wear one for this meeting, you can always aduce a misfunction in the pump, and leave the meeting room for the rest rooms.

Question: Is it just suitable for liquid and solid? or will it work for gas and gel too?
