The long-heralded promise of personalized genomics is coming to fruition, though questions abound. Some experts have expressed concern regarding the accuracy of kits that can scan for genes linked to certain traits and diseases, while simultaneously scrutinizing the reasons behind providing such knowledge. One thing is certain, the ability to map one's genetic landscape has become easier and cheaper to achieve. As the linked article states, all it takes is, 'a couple of hundred dollars, a few drops of saliva and a stamped envelope.'
