To Build or not to Build…

Posted March 17, 2009 7:00 AM

In need of a new or renovated lab design project? Sometimes it is a necessity, even when budgets are being frozen or cut. So, do you need new equipment, or can you upgrade/rebuild what you already have? Would used instruments suffice? These are great questions, but have you also considered how and where you are going to use the equipment? Do you have enough space? Does the project need its own space? And is the spaced ready to adequately handle your project? Have you reviewed the standards? Are you planning using a team (NOT the same as design by committee)? Have you secured the required resources? In short, tell me how you would handle a lab design project today.

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Lab Equipment, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Lab Equipment today.
