The European community involved in intelligent textiles has just published its first newsletter aimed at an unprecedented sharing of technical information among academia, the government and the business community. The goal is to keep Europe on the cutting edge of high-tech textile development, as this issue's Trend article states.

Probably, US entities don't need to collaborate to get things done, or to innovate. Sometimes collaboration-seekers are just thin on new ideas. By way of example, how many of the news-links in this DirectU2 bulletin are to U.S. entities, and how many to European?
