Food = Accidents About to Happen?

Posted June 06, 2009 7:37 AM

Salmonella, e. Coli, melamine — keeping the food supply healthful is a challenge. What part should analytical instruments play in food security? The criminal and murderous act of adding melamine to food took advantage of instruments that couldn't distinguish between melamine from edible protein. Can over-reliance on instruments cause more harm than good?

Here's a question.

By keeping every thing one ingest or come in contact with sterile, what effect does this have on our immune system........I didn't think it makes it stronger and more virile.

But by intentionally compromising the foods composition to get fictious by more favorable results in tests............that is criminal.

Over reliance on instruments. No........hell a rock and a stick is considered an instrument. But the criminal can find a way around just about anything, except maybe a hangmans noose around his neck.

Something doesn't sound right. The instruments (you say) cannot distinguish between melamine from edible protein. Was that a known fact? Was it known that melamine is dangerous to humans? Did it happen before that melamine was mixed with food? Are there any concerns that food has to be checked for melamine? Are there regulations that stipulate for melamine concentration in food?

In fact you should have asked yourself all questions before blaming on poor little darling instruments.
