Can America Learn to Drive Efficiently?

Posted June 03, 2009 7:39 AM

President Obama just announced the new standards for greener cars, with the support of some unlikely bedfellows, from politicians to automakers. But, can American business really collaborate with policymakers? Can American drivers really learn to change their habits and conserve?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Coatings & Surface Engineering, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Coatings & Surface Engineering today.

No, people are not thinking about tomorrow. They should learn to walk...

A green car? Is't that a self-contradiction? Even if a car has zero emission, it will still be a burden on the enviroment during production. And as long as we are not using the capacity of a car (in terms of passangers pr car), we can never call it green. And even by doing so, you can not compare it to a bus. The best is to walk, much less space consuming (less roads) and better for the enviroment (and health). Cheers.

No…. and the government needs to get out of business & industry period. We have good technology and should exploit it for all its worth. Moreover, as to conserve for get it. The info that we are receiving about global warming is not true full or accurate.

Quote "The info that we are receiving about global warming is not true full or accurate." You're right, it is much worse than anyone is telling us.
