Myself a Documentary maker by profession. I use to document various themes through audio-visual means on contemporary issues including issues affecting the poor, vulnerable and marginalized sections and environment as well as handicrafts and related subjects. Several documentaries on specific projects, corporate and social communications, business, education, culture, sports etc. were also made by me. My documentary on establishing the first Small and Medium Forest Enterprise in India, at Potka under Dhalbhum Forest Development Agency, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand titled "Artistic approach", produced by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India, was selected for the 8th International Social Communication Cinema Conference 2009, organized by Roopkala Kendro, Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, Government of West Bengal and screened at Nandan, the West Bengal Film Centre, Kolkata. "Artistic approach" along with my other two documentaries "the tender touch" on women participation in National Afforestation programme at Mandu, Ramgarh in Jharkhand and "Forest Management Beyond JFM" on a research project at Puruliya, West Bengal is accepted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India for the national telecast in Doordarshan (the number one television channel in India in terms of absolute viewer-ship). Besides, the public sectors like National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), The Handicraft Department, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India etc. and the state governments of Jharkhand and West Bengal have highly appreciated the documentaries. Documentaries on social communication plays a significant role in propagating the message of sustainable innovations which leads to sustainable development and also effectively helps to collect donation and procure various grants for micro finance and CSR funding.
