Avatar of children watching water well drilling across fence in Santa Mathilda, Nicaragua. Children of survivors of disastrous volcano caldera collapse from Hurricane Mitch. ~3000 people perished.
I am a retired Chemical Engineering researcher currently involved with shallow water well drilling and designing fabricating and installing village-size water purification systemsin 3rd world rural areas.
Earned doctorate in Chemical Engineering at University of Pittsburgh. Worked in research department
for a major chemical manufacturer in plastics and for 2 major steel producers in fuels technology,
lubrication, surface engineering and coatings areas for 35 years.
Now retired and loving it. I volunteer drilling water wells in
3rd world villages and providing technical assistance on water
purification to several NGOs.
