A53 Galvanized Welding to A106 Gr B

I have a WPS for P No 1 to P No1, ASMEIX

Can i weld A53 galvanized to A106 Gr B, or i need a new WPS

  1. What do the plans / blueprints recommend?
  2. What does your supervisor recommend?
  3. What does the engineer recommend?
  4. Ask them first.
  5. If you get no answers from those resources. Pack up your gear and find a new job, you're working with morons!

Please don't start this again!

I would say that if you remove the zinc back from the end to the HAZ, inside and out, before welding you would be good to go with the WPS that you have.

does that is permited by ASME IX or B31.3

please tell the forum where you are located and who your client is.

Also, on a personal note, I'd like to know who your employer is and if he knows that you don't have a clue what you are doing?

GA! LOL!

You do realize that HR is most likely going to deem you as; "Does not play well with others." on your next annual review?

No wonder that the QC is almost non-existent on imported goods.
